Diane McQuaid Toothman

03/15/1977 - 11/20/2024

Diane McQuaid, age 47, of Winter Haven, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born with a heart as boundless as the ocean she cherished, Diane lived a life defined by love, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to her family and friends.

Diane is survived by her devoted mother and stepfather, Rebecca and Hank Williams; her stepmother, Donna Toothman; her beloved children: Rebecca and her wife Shannon Huffman and their children, Grayson and Landon Huffman; Hunter Smith; Christian Smith and his son, Anthony Smith; and Jessica McQuaid and her son, Zaylenn Springfield. She also leaves behind her cherished siblings: Dori and her husband Jason Smith; Jeremy Toothman; Barbara and her husband Robert Griffith; and Jason and his wife Sabrina Toothman. Diane was deeply loved by her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who were like family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul H. Toothman II, and her precious son, Anthony P. McQuaid, who welcomed her with open arms.

Diane’s greatest joy in life was her family, especially her “grandbabies,” who were the center of her world. She was a mother and grandmother to many beyond her own, extending her love and care to the children of her extended family and friends. Known for her kindness and generous spirit, Diane never met a stranger she wouldn’t help.

Diane’s passions reflected her vibrant personality. She adored shopping—never missing a good deal—and enjoyed crafting, creating memories and treasures with her hands. Her love for the beach was unmatched; she found peace watching dolphins dance in the waves and searching for sea turtles. Most of all, Diane treasured the time spent with her family, extended relatives, and close friends, whose happiness meant the world to her.

A proud graduate of Auburndale High School’s Class of 1995, Diane pursued her love of learning and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education.

Diane’s legacy is one of unconditional love, selflessness, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. She touched countless hearts and will be forever remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family and friends.

A celebration of Diane’s beautiful life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Diane’s memory by helping someone in need, just as she would have done.
