Dianna “Gigi” Savoca

April 26, 1954 – July 21, 2026

Dianna “Gigi” Savoca, born April 26, 1954, has left this world. A daughter of the late Eula Mae “Mema” and Vernon “Papaw” Tyree, she was a sister to Donna Barnett (Bill), Kathy Bair (David), Vernon “Butch” Tyree, and Susie Jasper.

She was a loving mother to Crystal Jenkins (Todd), Justin Irwin (Heather), Joseph Irwin (ShyAnne), and Samantha Savoca, and was preceded in death by her son, Samuel “Ty” Savoca. Gigi was a devoted “Gigi” to nine grandchildren: Luke, Carson, and Audrey Jenkins; Aiden, Liam, and Finn Irwin; and Alivia, Ryder, and Layla Irwin.

Gigi was a legend who moved mountains to be involved in every life she encountered. She became a second mother to more lost children than we can count and served as the closest friend and confidant to everyone she met. She lived with kind words, soft-spoken truths, and simple wisdom shared through her actions. Her resilience, remarkable work ethic, and gift for preparing delicious meals from whatever was available were extraordinary. She had a special knack for cleaning and creating a tidy, beautiful environment. It was simply what she did and loved.

There has never been a more involved mother or dedicated guide. She would travel anywhere, often at the most challenging times, to support her children, standing by them whether right or wrong until the very end.

One of her greatest gifts was making people feel seen, cared for, and loved. With a nurturing spirit and whimsical heart, she turned ordinary moments into adventures—what we lovingly called “Gigi magic.” She made it her mission to keep our family connected, checking in on each of us, celebrating our joys, carrying our burdens, and ensuring we stayed close. Even as cancer changed much of her life in recent years, it never changed her heart. We are especially grateful to the incredible team at Hosparus for the compassion, kindness, and dignity they showed Mom and our family.

The world has one less angel while Heaven gains one of our best. The kindest spirit, the best of friends, the mother of all mothers, and the Gigi to all. Rest in peace, Mom. To honor her beautiful life, let us stay connected, keep checking in on one another, gather around the table, share stories, and love our families the way she taught us to.
