Donald Glen McCoy

Donald Glen McCoy, 68, passed away on September 20, 2026.

Donald was a graduate of New Washington Middle/High School. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on cars, hunting, fishing, and just about anything that involved having a good time. Many weekends were spent enjoying NASCAR and Indy car races.

Donald especially loved being a grandpa. He treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren, teaching them all about “snipe” hunting and taking them 4-wheeler riding. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and would help anyone at a moment’s notice.

Donald is survived by his daughter, Holly Dunaway; his son, Jessie McCoy (Heather); his four grandchildren, Quenton Glisson, Kiley Dunaway, Owen McCoy, and Julie McCoy; his sister, Rita “Cookie” McCoy-Yeo; his brother, Russell McCoy; Mary Powers; Kris Dunaway; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Blanche McCoy; his brothers, Darrell McCoy, Tim McCoy, Bobby McCoy, and Ed McCoy; and his sister, Cathy Lake.

Donald will be remembered for his generous heart, willingness to help others, love of adventure, and most of all, the joy he found in being a father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
