So sorry to hear about my friend, Douglas McCreary’s passing… Residing in Houston, I only make it up to Indy one or two times a year. We were blessed to spend some quality time with Doug during the SHS 45th year class reunion weekend, where my wife and I stayed with Kevin and Renee Franklin. and Doug spent the night so, not having to drive back to his home in Elberfield. We stayed up late having a great one-on-one visit, reminiscing and laughing about the good ole days. With this news, I will always cherish that last meaningful visit with my good friend Doug!! RIP my brother!!

I grew up with Joe in Spencer, Indiana. I had the great fortune of spending time with Doug on several occasions. In my memory, Doug attended an X Fest with Joe and I in the late 90’s (If memory serves, Doug really liked The Blood hound Gang).

I always appreciated how welcoming Doug was to Joe’s friends, Lord knows we weren’t the most well behaved (or groomed) people on the planet at that time. I alway felt welcome and comfortable around Doug and his family.

Joe was always very proud of his dad growing up. I had heard quite a bit about him before I ever had the chance to meet him. I came to realize why Joe admired him so.

My thoughts to Joe and family.

I saw Doug at the last SHS Class of ‘77 reunion and we spent a bit of time catching up. He was such a great guy! I am saddened to hear of his passing. Sincere condolences from the Cassady’s in Virginia. May God bless you with fond memories of the times you spent together.
