Just saw Doug this past summer at Kevin Franklin’s birthday. Doug shared that his health was poor but nothing he said indicated this. Doug, like many of the friends we were blessed to grow up with, was easy to laugh and share success and pain in life. And we did that even if many years had passed. We attended Southport HS together. Today, I’m said but also counting blessings. Thank you, Father, for Doug’s life and friendship. I’m praying for the family as they mourn.

Maddie, Linda, Joe & families- I’m so sorry for your loss! I’ll always remember how happy Doug was at Maddie’s wedding. My favorite memory is sitting at the hotel after the reception, after Maddie & Matt went on to bed. Doug and Linda sat around the bar and the pool with a few of us for hours, chatting about Beatle boots and throwing around lots of “Listen, Linda.” Hugs to all of you!
