Douglas Hester
3/29/1957 - 3/31/2025
Douglas Hester, 68, of Martinsville, Indiana, passed away on March 31, 2025. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence could light up a room with his infectious smile and sharp sense of humor.
Born to the late Herschel Hester Sr. and Patricia Hester, Douglas lived life on his own terms—a true biker at heart, a rebel without a cause, yet deeply loyal to those he loved. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for four years, carrying the discipline and determination he learned into every aspect of his life.
A skilled forklift mechanic by trade, Douglas had a natural talent for fixing things, whether it was cars, motorcycles, or anything that needed a little ingenuity and elbow grease. His love for motorcycles was unmatched, and he found freedom on the open road. He also had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, enjoying camping, fishing, and simply soaking in nature.
Douglas is survived by his children, Necia Hester-Singleton and Douglas Hester Jr.; his four cherished grandchildren, Zenley, Dominic, Mason, and Aurora; his brothers, Hershal Ray Hester Jr. and Andrew Hester (Tammy); and his sister, Pamela Hester. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gordon Hester.
Douglas lived life boldly, loved fiercely, and left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of adventure, laughter, and resilience will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 13,2025. From 1pm-4pm at Memories Event Barn located 2588 U.S. Hwy 40 U.S. 40, Clayton, IN 46118. In honor of Douglas, take a ride, crack a joke, and enjoy the simple things—just as he would have wanted

When I was young, me, my mom Rita and my sister Lisa use to visit all the time. He would always have these Looney Tunes themed coloring sets for us to do, and I’d color him a picture of Taz and he’d impersonate him and run around the house. It always cracked me up, he was such a good guy. My family lost touch and It has been years since I’ve seen him, and was sad to hear this news.., my condolences to the family. He will be missed.
