Elza Bryan Abney

Elza Bryan Abney, 54, passed away on August 11th at the University of Louisville - Jewish Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. Bryan was born on May 24th, 1972 in Lexington, KY to Kathryn Arlene Isaacs and Elza Butch Abney.

Bryan grew up in Georgetown, KY, and graduated from Scott County High School. In life, his two favorite things were music and making people smile. Whether it be a joke to lift one's spirits, or words of reassurance in trying times, he was there. As for his music, he played bass guitar, performed in numerous bands, travelled the country to play, and passed the interest on to his children.

Bryan was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Abney; mother, Arlene Isaacs; father, Butch Abney; stepmother, Brenda Abney; uncle, Ricky Isaacs; and his grandmother, Estelle Isaacs.

He is survived by his four children, Christopher (m. Christina) Abney, Brandon (m. Rachel) Abney, Hannah Abney, and Alyssa Abney; sisters Johnna, Denise, and Denell (m. Dewey); aunts Sindy (m. Frank), Joan, and Susie; uncle Jacob; cousins Eileen (m. Daniel), Darryl, Frank, and Kandi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life event for Bryan will be held at the Lexington VFW - Leestown on Saturday, November 7th, beginning at 12:30PM  1494 Leestown Rd, Lexington, KY 40511
