Eric Hillard

Eric Andrew Hillard passed away on July 1, 2024, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and friends. 

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday July 11, 2024, from 2pm-6pm at Rumors Restaurant, 12339 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY.

Eric was born on May 23, 1972, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Andrew Hillard and Rita Hillard. He graduated from LaFayette High School located in Lexington, KY class of 1990. He then attended Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He achieved a stellar reputation in the food service industry. He last worked at The Blind Squirrel in Middletown, KY as the Director of Operations and part owner. 

Eric had a strong passion for the game of tennis, golf, UK football, tailgating and spending time with family and friends. There were always smiles and laughter when he was present.

Eric leaves behind a daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Hillard and a son, Mason Trent Hillard, both of Louisville, KY.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Hillard and a nephew, Jacob Covey.

He is survived by his mother Rita Hillard, sisters Lisa Hayslett and Andrea (Brant) Treon, and a twin brother Todd Hillard, several nieces and nephews and Shani Wells Hillard Mother of Ashley and Mason Hillard.

Cremation was chosen and Magnolia Cremations of Jeffersonville, Indiana has been entrusted with the arrangements.
