Evelyn Alicia Arroyo

With deep love and sorrow, the family of Evelyn Alicia Arroyo announces her passing on November 6, 2025, in Springfield, KY.

Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her father, Nelson “Rick” Arroyo, Sr.; her mother, Lisa Marie Arroyo; her brother, Nelson Arroyo, Jr.; her grandfather, Navy Captain (Ret.) Thomas Atkins; and her aunts and uncles Tim and Lori Meyers, Leslie Atkins-Hash, and Iris Lopez.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers Alice Atkins and Rosa Iris Lopez, whose love and guidance remained close to Evelyn’s heart throughout her life.

Evelyn lived a remarkable and adventurous life, traveling and residing with her military-connected family across both coasts of the United States, as well as in Japan, the United Kingdom, Cuba, Bahrain, and Korea. Her experiences abroad enriched her outlook and deepened her compassion for people and cultures around the world.

Her love for learning and dedication to excellence were evident throughout her academic journey. Evelyn attended culinary school in Bury Saint Edmunds, England, where she cultivated her passion for food and creativity. She later attended Plymouth State University, where she excelled academically, serving as President of the Science Club, tutoring Anatomy and Physiology, and being a proud member of the Science Honor Society.

Evelyn had a vibrant spirit and a nurturing soul. She found joy in gardening, cooking, canning, and caring for her pets and farm animals. Her compassion extended to every living thing, and she touched the lives of all who knew her with kindness and warmth.

Evelyn’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have shared in her life.
