Frank Newton, Jr.
11/01/1954 - 12/22/2025
Frank Newton, Jr., 71, of Guston, Kentucky, passed away on December 22, 2025, surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 1, 1954, Frank built a life grounded in loyalty, love, humility, and quiet strength—traits that never left him, even in his final days.
Frank was a devoted husband to his wife, Sharon, and a proud father to Jason and Ashley. He was deeply grateful to welcome Jessica Newton into the family as a daughter-in-law and carried great pride in watching his family grow.
A man who believed in commitment and brotherhood, Frank was a dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge, embracing fellowship, community service, and integrity. His Masonic ties brought lifelong friendships and a sense of purpose that he treasured.
Frank also created a second family through years of track-and-field officiating. He cherished the road trips, long meet days, shared meals, inside jokes, and the trust built on starting lines and finish straights. His officiating crews were more than colleagues; they were friends who became family through shared seasons, unpredictable weather, and thousands of young athletes whose efforts they guided together. Those memories, that camaraderie, and that laughter will forever carry his spirit forward.
Family was Frank’s anchor. He is survived by his loving mother, Libby Toney, and his sisters, April Newton and Patricia Gardner, each holding decades of shared memories and support. He leaves behind a legacy of steadiness, dry humor, and quiet generosity.
Even as his battle with cancer progressed, Frank continued to welcome visitors, share stories, and remind those closest to him that love is what lasts.
A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at a later date, where friends and family may gather to honor his memory, share stories, and find comfort in one another.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations to the hospice or charitable organization of your choice, made in Frank’s honor.
Frank Newton, Jr. will be deeply missed—a husband, father, son, brother, Mason, official, and friend whose love endures in the lives he touched.
