In Loving Memory of Gary Smiddy

Gary Smiddy, 68 of Corbin, Kentucky, passed peacefully into the arms of his savior on October 16, 2025. Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great – grandfather whose life was defined by love, faith, and family.

An electrician by trade, Gary took great pride in his work and in lending a helping hand to anyone in need. His true passion, however, was music. He found joy and purpose in playing guitar during services at Rockhold Community Church, using his God-given talent to lift others in worship and praise. His gentle spirit, warm smile and unwavering faith touched countless lives.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Louise Smiddy; brother Ronnie, Stanley, Lonzo, Brian and his twin brother Larry Smiddy; sister Rita and Linda Smiddy; and his beloved daughter, Amanda Smiddy.

His is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Peggy Smiddy; his brother Steve and Eddie (Debbie)Smiddy; his children Machelle(Ronnie) Partin, Joshua(Ashley)Smiddy and Gary(Melissa)Smiddy; and his Cherished grandchildren Kim(Nate) Williams, Dylan Tanessa, Kayla Partin, Caz(Beverly) Strickland, Madison Smiddy, Margaret(Payton) Vogel, Bella Smiddy, Griffin Smiddy, and Gabrielle Smiddy. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Aliviah, Hayden, and Addi Jo Williams; Josh Tanessa; Daniel and Bradley Strickland; and Sadie Vogel—all of the whom brought endless joy to his heart.

Gary will be remembered for his strong faith, his kindness, his humor and the love he poured into every life he touched. Through his hands are now at rest, the music he played and the love he gave will love on in the hearts of those who knew him.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that donations be made to help cover Gary’s end-of –life expense. Contributions may be made directly to the family or through arrangements shared at a later time.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family at a later date.
