George Mattingly

George Mattingly, 78, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025. He was born on September 17, 1947.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Faith A. Mattingly; his sisters, Alice J. Busch and Mary C. McQuillen; nieces Catherine J. Busch and Cristine Kane; nephew David M. Busch; and his beloved dogs, Pete and Raven.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Breitenstein Mattingly, and his son, Geoff P. Mattingly.

A graduate of Durrett High School, Class of 1965, George went on to work as a machinist and later retired from Reynolds Metals. Beyond his career, he enjoyed golfing, classic cars, and took special pride in his 1966 Chevelle SS 396.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be directed to the WHAS 11 Crusade for Children.

George Mattingly will be remembered for his devotion to family, his passions, and the joy he brought to those around him.
