Goble William “Mac” Floyd of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on June 20, 2025. Born in Evansville, Indiana on November 5, 1950, he graduated from Newburgh’s Castle High School in 1968. He attended Rose Polytechnic Institute and the University of Evansville. Goble married Jacqueline McNatton Floyd in 1972. He was particularly proud of his two children and adorable grandson.

In 1974, Goble began his career with Eastman Kodak as an equipment repairman before advancing into x-ray film sales and medical health imaging management. In anticipation of the arrival of their first and only grandchild, they relocated to Louisville in 2020.

His personal and business travels took him to four continents and all fifty states. He was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the St. Louis Cardinals. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing and golfing with friends. Cooking and grilling were also personal passions. Homemade ice cream, home-baked breads, and barbecue ribs were some of his standout dishes. As a skilled amateur handyman, he was always on the brink of starting or finishing some complicated DIY project.

In addition to his wife Jackie, he is survived by his daughter Sarah Floyd (James) Childs of Indianapolis, son Evan Goble (Katie) Floyd and grandson Luka Goble Floyd of Louisville. He is also survived by his sisters Elizabeth Jane Cerullo, Dana Sue (John) Mattingly, and brother Mark Wayne (Diane) Floyd. He valued his long-time relationships with his sisters-in-law Deborah (Thomas) Kempf,  Bobbie Jarvis, and Nancy McNatton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Goble William Floyd II and Billie Jane Kight Floyd, his brother-in-law Rory McNatton and sister-in-law Sue McNatton. Rest in peace my dear friend, Goble Floyd! A fitting uncommon name for a authentic uncommon man. Goble was one our beloved Kodak friends! He was a bright and funny, kind man with a Midwest mannerly way to express himself that was pure Goble!

Maybe my favorite memory of Gobs was at a Kodak sales meeting in San Francisco and we were are at a ice cream shop. The group was Tim Brewer, Luke Wigger, Gobs and me. We or maybe just Luke decided to get a milkshake. Goble was standing opposite Luke in our circle and wearing white pants. One of us said something funny, likely me and Luke spat a mouthful of his shake all over the front of Goble. As we all cracked up, seeing Goble w milkshake all over his face, dripping off his glasses and staining his pants – Goble simply said in a classic leave it to beaver type tone – “Gee Luke, I could have gone all day with out you doing that!” Just one of many of Goble quips that strike me as some of the funniest comments ever!

Another classic Gobism heard on the golf course after a occasional errant shot “I may have pushed that one just a skosh”.

Goble was a proud and loving family man! When he spoke about his wife, Jackie, his kids, Sarah & Evan and his grandson, Luka, he would light up!

Knowing Gobs has enriched my life and he has touched many similarly on his journey. He will be greatly missed but our memories will endure and make me smile.

Al Hawkins and I visited Goble and Jackie what became his last week in this world. He was very weak and though goodbyes are never easy, we are grateful he is resting and at peace now. Jackie demonstrated love, courage and grace during our visit.

My wife Sherrie and I extend our deepest condolences & love to the Floyd family during this difficult time. See you around my dear friend, Gobs!
