Gregory Sebastian Hess, age 34, passed away on January 19, 2026. Born on August 8, 1991, Greg will be remembered for his kind heart, bright spirit, and genuine compassion for others.

Greg is survived by his loving parents, Michael Hess, MD, and Sherry Vance; his stepfather, Leonard Vance; and his brothers, Bryan Hess (Abby) and Nick Hess (Stefanie). He is also lovingly remembered by extended family and many friends whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Irmgard Hess, and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Martha Edwards.

Greg grew up in Goshen, Kentucky, and attended North Oldham High School. He later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Louisville. Greg proudly applied his talents in his work with Spatial Data Integrations, where his intelligence, dedication, and attention to detail were valued.

Greg had a big heart and a warm, genuine smile. He was always ready to stand up for the underdog and never hesitated to offer encouragement or support to those in need. A lifelong learner, Greg pursued his interests with focus and enthusiasm whenever something sparked his curiosity.

One of Greg’s greatest joys was his lifelong passion for Legos—a hobby that began in childhood and remained a meaningful source of creativity and happiness throughout his life. He also shared a deep and special bond with his beloved late dog, Cosmo, who was his constant companion and best friend.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 28, at Hikes Point Christian Church, located at 2601 Hikes Lane, Louisville, KY 40218.
Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.

Very sad to learn of Greg’s passing. I knew Greg from The Healing Place and he was truly a bright light—one of the brightest I’ve ever encountered. Heartfelt prayers to his family and all who loved him. May he be at peace.

What an incredibly beautiful service for beloved Greg today! The songs sung, the scripture read, the words of those that loved him SO much, the devotion shared, the hugs, the tears, the smiles! He would have loved it all! Thank you for allowing the Keefe family to be a part of celebrating Greg’s life and legacy. We love you all dearly.

You’ll always be one of the smartest people I’ve ever met. The only thing more amazing, I think, is how little you’ve ever cared for anyone to notice.

You’ve always been such an authentic listener. You’ve always made me feel understood, and seen, in a way very few people ever have. It’s hard to articulate how much I’ve always appreciated you for this.

I hope I can be more like you when I grow up. I’ll see you at Kai’s.

Kathryn shared a sweet memory of Greg with me today. When she was a Senior in high school she went to a party at the house where our boys lived together during UL days. Greg followed her around making sure that everyone (the boys that is) knew that she was Taylor’s little sister and he wanted no “funny business “ going on with her. She said he was her guardian that night and they laughed together and he was looking out for her until he safely got her in her car to send her home. I had never heard that story. It was so precious and we both shed some tears together ❤️🥲❤️

I will never forget you and will forever love you.
