Helen Kane

Helen Kane, 73, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on September 20, 2025. She was a beloved mother, daughter, and grandmother. 

She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Clifford and Sarah K. Maharaj; son, Terry (Jacqueline) Heichelbech; grandchildren, Alicia, Martina, Corey, Demitrius, Kane, Dominic, Jack, and Charlotte; nine great-grandchildren; special niece Kelly; a host of nieces and nephews; and her good friend, Miss Patsy. 

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Bessie Thomas; siblings, Connie, Walter, Henry, Debbie, and Michael. 

Helen was a dedicated member of Crossroad Community Church in New Albany, where she volunteered in the nursery and with ministry. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Helen was also an avid gardener. She retired from the school system after fifteen years of dedication. 

Cremation was chosen and Magnolia Cremations of Jeffersonville, Indiana, has been entrusted with the services.
