Irvin Monroe

10/11/1952-11/08/2025

Irvin Monroe, born October 11, 1952, passed away on November 8, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia “Ginna” Marrillia Monroe and James Monroe, and his sister, Charlotte Monroe.
Irvin was the beloved father of Lindsey Monroe and Katie (Chris) Satterly, and the proud grandfather of Emmett, Lucy, and Jaxsen. He was a cherished brother to Charles “Mose” Monroe, Doug “Porky” Monroe, Sandra Cornell, Virginia “Gingy” (Lenny) Wessel, Paul (FiFi) Monroe, Patty Monroe, Margaret Vaile, Shirley Monroe, Barbara (Jimmy) Allman, and Scott Monroe, and a fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Over the years, Irvin found joy in coaching little league, playing softball and golf, and watching horse racing and football—remaining a loyal Detroit Lions fan through it all. He loved listening to Motown and spending time at Frankfort Avenue Beer Depot and Patrick’s with his second family. Above all, he treasured moments with his daughters, son-in-law, grandchildren, siblings, and their families.
Irvin will be remembered as a loving, protective, and loyal father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His presence brought warmth and laughter to those around him, and his loss is profoundly felt by all who knew him.
May his memory bring comfort and strength to those who mourn his passing.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at The Vernon on November 22, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

So grateful to have known “Irvin Lee.” He was shy, at first, but grew into a good friend. I’m sure Tim Timmel was at heaven’s gates to welcome Irvin.
