Jacalyn Dickman
12/6/1953 - 6/2/2026
Jacalyn Stocksdale Dickman passed away surrounded by the love of family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
A graduate of Clarksville High School, Jacalyn earned multiple certifications in the healthcare field.
Jacalyn loved to just be with everybody. It did not matter the plans, the place, or the time; she wanted to be with the ones she loved. Jacalyn would shine with her joyful laugh and kind smile while fulfilling so many roles throughout her life.
A turtle whisperer, she loved walking the beach in New Smyrna and would watch for sea turtles and keep an eye on their nests. Her walks were so consistent that strangers would ask her questions about sea turtles, assuming she was part of the actual turtle patrol.
As a devoted reality television fan, she was captivated by the strategy involved in Survivor and Big Brother. An avid sportswoman in her younger years, Jacalyn's athletic abilities and pioneering spirit helped pave the way for female athletics at Clarksville High School.
A generous soul, her love language was gift giving. If you complimented her on an item she was wearing, she would offer to give it to you right then and there. Surprises from her were frequent and treasured by those fortunate enough to receive them.
A fun-loving and caring grandmother and aunt, Grammy and Aunt Jackie was voted most fun by her littles and was a mainstay in their lives. She never missed a birthday, holiday, Grandparents Day, or opportunity to babysit.
A proud mom to Madison and Damien, Jacalyn's gift was her presence. She supported them by going on family trips, traveling to far-away sporting events, and helping during difficult times. She made sure her children knew how much she loved them every day. One of her favorite expressions was, I love you more than all the stars in the sky... more than all the sand in all the beaches.
Jacalyn is survived by her daughter, Madison Dickman (Brian Caminiti); son, Damien Dickman (Meredith Hornung); brothers, Leon Stocksdale Jr. (Bobbie Sue) and Bobby Stocksdale; sister, Judy Stocksdale; niece, Racheal See (Greg See) and sons Michael, Kennedy, Gavin, and Christian; niece, Morgan Maples (Scottie Maples) and daughters Emilee, Ryann, and Lucy; niece, Alanna Scott (Aaron Scott) and children Cora and Drew; nephews, Robby Stocksdale (Kirsten) and children Nora, Luke, and Sammy, Brian Haulter (Dawn) and sons Milo and Soren, Patrick Haulter (Crystal) and daughter Willow, and Derek Stocksdale; along with many extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Margaret Haworth; parents, Marvin Leon Stocksdale Sr. and Patricia Lou Stocksdale; nephews, Ryan Stocksdale and Drew Stocksdale; and all her beloved pets throughout her life, including her soul dog, Dizzy, who was waiting for his walk when she met him on the Rainbow Bridge.
Jacalyn's memory will live on in the countless lives she touched through her kindness, generosity, laughter, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 8th from 2pm-5pm at Mellwood Art Center's Pigment Gallery. A service will be performed at 4:30pm.
