James “Jim” Hope Hudgins

James “Jim” Hope Hudgins, 73, passed away on May 22, 2025, in Louisville, KY.

Born on January 28, 1952, in Louisville, KY, Jim is a graduate of the University of Louisville and worked most of his life in the golf industry.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Campbell Hudgins; his mother, Elizabeth Jones Hudgins; and his brother, Charles Campbell Hudgins, Jr.

Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen D. Curry; his sons, James “Bryan” Hudgins (Lauren) and William “Will” Curry Hudgins (Lindsay); and his grandchildren, Elizabeth A., James “Logan,” Addison “Addy” G., William “Curry,” and Allyson “Ally” S. Hudgins.

The family also wants to thank Linda Carrick, that helped care for him.

Jim had a deep appreciation for the time he spent outdoors, especially when golfing or boating along the Ohio River. He valued his independence and had a unique way of approaching life that those who knew him won’t forget.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Big Spring Country Club, 5901 Dutchman’s Ln., Louisville, KY 40205. Friends and family are welcome to gather, share memories, and reflect on Jim’s life and legacy.

Jim always had a good story to tell. Will always remember the tailgating that we did at the U of L football games. I will always remember the advice he told me about tomato plants, he told me to be sure to " pick off those sucker leaves" , how funny i remember that every year throught the tomato season. rest in peace .
