James “Jimmy” Houk,

James “Jimmy” Houk, 57, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on September 6, 2025. He was born on March 16, 1968, in Bardstown, Kentucky, to James and Brenda Houk.

Jimmy is survived by his five children: Harvey Houk, Ryan Houk, Anthony (Kim) Cash, Amanda Reading, and April (Aaron) Heitzman. He is also survived by his brothers John (Misty), Ethan (Olivia), and Gary Houk; his sisters Summer (Shane) Collier, Sina (Shane) Bonza, Hannah (Gilbert) Gardillas, and Rebecca Evans; and by many extended family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, Deborah Houk, as well as his parents, James Houk and Brenda Downes.

Jimmy will be remembered for his kind heart, his devotion to family, and his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, good music, and time spent with those closest to him. His miniature dachshunds, Bailey and Baxter, were his constant companions and brought him great joy.

A skilled and hardworking craftsman, Jimmy was certified through the Home Builders Association of Louisville and dedicated 35 years to his career as a window installer—leaving his mark on countless homes and families throughout the community.

A memorial service will be held in his honor at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Journey Church in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
