James "Jimmy" Lee Weston

11/6/1951 - 11/25/2024

James "Jimmy" Lee Weston, 73, of New Washington, IN, was called home on Monday, November 25, 2024.

Jimmy was born on November 6, 1951, to Elias Weston Jr. and Onnia Kathryn (Lawless) Weston in Jamestown, KY. He graduated from New Washington High School. Over the years, he held various jobs to support his family, including working as a salesman and truck driver. Later, alongside his wife, Linda, he ran Weston’s Residential Care Facility in their home for 32 years.

His love for others and his big heart shone in both his professional and personal life. He often said his greatest accomplishments were being a husband, dad, son, brother, "Popaw," and friend to those he loved.

Jimmy’s life was so much more than his career. He loved the outdoors—camping, hiking, kayaking, and fishing. He cherished taking his grandchildren on adventures in the woods to build campfires. Jimmy also enjoyed online auctions, western movies, bluegrass music, and sports. He never turned down a game of pool with his brother Gary, even teaching his grandchildren to play during family vacations. He loved God, guns, and his country. His family will always remember him as funny, affectionate, supportive, and always there when anyone needed him.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Larry, Gary, and Bobby Weston; and his niece, Jennifer Weston.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Linda; his daughters, Saundra Cleffman, Stephanie (Cleffman) Miller, Susan Huff (Gary), and Shi Ann Weston; his grandchildren, Joshua Miller (Ciara), Benjamin Miller, Karena Huff, Mason Huff (Kalyn), Kyndal Huff, Isaiah Huff, Kaia Huff, Elias (Eli) Weston, Lauren Campbell (Brandon), and Kimberlin Mialback; his great-grandchildren, Cooper, Lucas, Corbin, Wyatt, Weston, Easton, Isaac, Lennon, and Cash; his sisters, Diana Jeffrey (Bill) of Charlestown, IN, Bonnie Grether of Fort Worth, TX, and Teresa Simmons (Tom) of Jeffersonville, IN; and several nieces and nephews who mourn his passing.

Per his wishes, cremation was chosen. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at the Charlestown Independent Church Fellowship Hall. Those who knew him are invited to come and share a funny story to reflect the wonderful life he lived.
