James M. Gossom

James M. Gossom, age 75, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on September 27, 2026. Born on July 7, 1951 in Madison, Indiana, James was a son of Clifford Lee Gossom and Mary Imogene (Gatewood) Gossom. He attended Trimble County High school and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1975. That same year he began a long and dedicated career with the Metropolitan Sewer District. Over the next 32 years he served as an instrument and process control technician and eventually as a master electrician, retiring in 2007. He was previously united in marriage to Denise Hambrick on October 25, 1981, and they shared one daughter, Kara. He loved fixing computers, fishing, and music. He also loved frequenting his favorite restaurants each day throughouthis retirement years. He was kindhearted, soft spoken, and loved his family dearly. He will be cherished in memory by his daughter, Kara Kelton, his son-in-law Kevin Kelton, and his granddaughter, Karenna Kelton. He is also survived by his siblings, Terry Gossom, Vickie Butler, Kenny Gossom, Cheryl Pettit, Eddy Gossom, Donny Gossom, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Brenda Staples and Mike Gossom.
