James Theodore Mattingly

James Theodore Mattingly, 76, passed away on September 14, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thedore and Adena, and his sister, Betty. He is survived by his children, James Patrick Mattingly, William Joseph Mattingly (Miranda), and Tonya Marie Haddix; grandchildren, Mark and Cody, Justin and Chris ; great-grandson, Steven; siblings, Doris Breeden, Larry Mattingly and Jerry Mattingly, Donnie Mattingly, Barbara Morris, and Linda Blair; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Carolyn Stevens.

James worked as a mechanic, a trade he both excelled in and enjoyed. He especially loved showing off his old car, a passion that brought him joy throughout his life.

A memorial service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on September 20, 2025, at Little Union Baptist Church, 4620 Little Union Rd, Taylorsville, KY. Following the service, his ashes will be spread, with Pastor Will Sipes leading the words of remembrance.
