Janise Guthrie

Janise Guthrie, a devoted daughter, sister, mother, and friend, passed away on December 27, 2023.

She is survived by her loving sister, Rhonda Neely (Tommy) Heaton; her daughter, Rachel (Joe) Cannon; numerous nieces and nephews; grandchildren; and was cherished as Nonna by many.

Janise was preceded in death by her beloved father, RC Neely; her brother, Terry G Neely; and, most heartbreakingly, her son, Terry E Guthrie.

A faithful member of Old Philadelphia Baptist Church in Locust Fork, Alabama, Janise dedicated her life to serving others, particularly working with mentally handicapped individuals and the elderly. Her compassion knew no bounds, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Janise's greatest accomplishment was undoubtedly her role as a mother to her only son, Terry E Guthrie, whose passing in 2021 left an indelible void in her heart. She embodied the roles of a loving mama, caring sister, doting aunt, and cherished Nonna to anyone who sought the comfort of a guiding presence in their lives.

Janise will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness, selflessness, and unwavering love will forever echo in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
