Jason Bowling Mudd
01/07/1982 - 10/17/2026
Jason Mudd was born on January 7, 1982, during one of the coldest winters in Kentucky's history. While the temperatures outside were bitterly cold, Jason would go on to live a life characterized by warmth, enthusiasm, and an unmistakable passion for the people and places he loved.
A lifelong Louisvillian, Jason graduated from Eastern High School in 2000 and went on to attend both the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky. Throughout his career, he pursued a variety of interests in business and the service industry, eventually developing a business in Louisville's Highlands neighborhood that provided unique spaces for offices, work, and entertainment.
Jason had a genuine passion for life and an adventurous spirit. In his younger years, he was an avid cyclist, motorcyclist, and dirt bike rider, participating in numerous races and building friendships that would last a lifetime. His love of adventure extended well beyond racing. He enjoyed traveling, discovering new places, and meeting new people. Few things made Jason happier than the city he called home. He loved Louisville and was an enthusiastic supporter of its local businesses, restaurants, and the people who made the community special. He believed in supporting others and was always eager to lend a hand, offer an idea, or find a way to help.
Above all, Jason will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his curiosity, his adventurous nature, and the many connections he made throughout his life. He approached the world with an openness to new experiences and a genuine appreciation for the people he encountered along the way.
Jason passed away unexpectedly in October 2026 at the age of 44. Though his life was far too short, the friendships he cultivated, the experiences he embraced, and the memories he created will remain with those who knew and loved him.
Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Cecil D. Bowling, and Mr. & Mrs. Joseph W. Mudd, with whom he was fortunate to share many cherished memories.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Carter Jean Mudd, and her mother, Tara Mudd; his parents, Leslie and Jay Mudd; and his cherished dogs, Tilly, Violet, and Sophie who will undoubtedly continue watching for him in all their favorite places.
A private family service is planned.
