I have known Jean since she was 14. She has always had a special place in my heart. She was always a very kind, loving person. She overcame a lot in her own childhood and tried her best to be a loving, supportive mother and grandmother. She loved her family more than anything. I will miss her but glad she is at peace now.

She was my number one supporter at all of my home games; every time I looked out into the outfield, she was always there cheering me on behind the fence. She started making deals like, “If you hit a home run, I’ll pay you $5.” I kept taking money out of her pockets with the number of home runs I hit over my career. She would always send those good luck texts before every game. It was my favorite part of the day. I’m happy she was able to see me play for the last time before she moved on.
