Jeffrey Slade Simonton, Age 50, of Clarksville, TN and Naples, FL, died on May 15, 2024, in a car accident.  Jeff was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and raised in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, where he was a member of First United Methodist Church.  Jeff was a talented athlete and played baseball, basketball, and soccer. He graduated from Hopkinsville High School and was a member of the state championship wrestling team.  He attended Eastern Kentucky University where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.  Jeff worked in the food service industry throughout his life while living in Myrtle Beach, SC; Hopkinsville, KY; and Naples, Florida.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Ronald H. Simonton; maternal grandparents, Philip and Elizabeth Slade; and his paternal grandparents, Robert and Millie Simonton.  He is survived by his mother, Meredith Simonton; his sister, Kerrie Wilson; his nieces, Sarah Wilson, Kaitlin Wilson, and Emery Wilson; his uncle, Richard Simonton (Margie), and his many cousins.

Jeff enjoyed listening to music, living by the ocean, being in nature, preparing and eating delicious food, playing cards, and above all else, making others laugh.  He was a generous tipper and loved giving his friends and family treats and surprises.  Jeff also loved animals, and his favorite pets were his dog, Dee Dee, and his cat, Nova.  

Jeff’s life will be celebrated by friends and family on June 1, 2024. Visitation will be held at Sango United Methodist Church (Clarksville, TN) from 12:00-1:30 in the Fellowship Hall.  A graveside service will follow at Flat Lick Cemetery in Herndon, Kentucky, at 2:30.  After the committal service, a second visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church (Cornell Hall) in Hopkinsville, KY, from 4:00-5:30 pm.

Cremation was chosen and Magnolia Cremations of Jeffersonville, Indiana has been entrusted with the arrangements.
