Jennifer Cunningham

9/6/1974 - 4/7/2026

Jennifer Lynn Cunningham, 51, passed away on April 7, 2026, due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable moments.

Jennifer’s life was a testament to the love and dedication of her family. Her parents, Sharon and Larry Cunningham, fought for inclusion and opportunity, ensuring Jennifer could attend public schools and experience life alongside her peers. She proudly graduated from Jeffersonville High School. She went on to work at New Hope Services, where she formed meaningful connections and lifelong friendships. Jennifer’s warmth, humor, and genuine nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Jennifer’s life was filled with connection and community. Resch’s Tavern, originally owned by her grandparents, Dorothy and Ralph Resch, later by her parents, and now by her brother, Mike, held special meaning for her. It was there that Jennifer formed many friendships and spent countless joyful moments. She loved watching ballgames and celebrating many Kentucky Derbys at Resch’s, but above all, Jennifer’s favorite was karaoke—she loved to sing, to perform, and to bring smiles to everyone around her.

In a final act of generosity, Jennifer’s brain will be donated to the ABC-DS (Alzheimer’s Biomarker Consortium–Down Syndrome) to support critical research aimed at better understanding and ultimately combating this disease. Her legacy will live on not only in the hearts of those who loved her but also in the progress she helps make possible.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her loving parents, Sharon Cunningham and Larry Cunningham.

After the passing of her parents, Jennifer was lovingly cared for in the home of her sister, Dawn, and brother-in-law, Billy, where she continued to be surrounded by family, comfort, and unwavering support for the rest of her life.

She is survived by her brother, Mike Marn; her sister, Dawn Cunliffe (Billy); her niece, Lauren Cunliffe; her nephew, Evan Cunliffe (Shelby); and her great-nephew, Beau Cunliffe. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who will cherish her memory.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Southern Care Hospice for the compassionate and exceptional care provided to Jennifer, as well as the support given to her family during this time.

A memorial service to celebrate Jennifer’s life will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at The Magnolia, located at 318 W Lewis and Clark Pkwy, Clarksville, IN. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., with the service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Together, we will honor Jennifer’s life through music, shared memories, and the joyful spirit she brought to all of our lives.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jennifer’s memory to the National Down Syndrome Society. This cause is especially meaningful, as ongoing research and advocacy are so important for individuals with Down syndrome, particularly as they face the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease. Your generosity helps support efforts to better understand, treat, and improve the lives of those within this community. Donations may be made online at ndss.org , brought to the memorial service, or mailed to the family at 3014 Gus Emmett Trail, Sellersburg, IN 47172.

So sorry to hear this. She was such fun when with us. I’ll always teased her about her boyfriend and she would get so mad at him. We always enjoyed our time with her Larry and Sharon. Your family provided her such a loving and a life full of experiences.
