Jennifer Hernandez

Jennifer Renee Hernandez, 50, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on April 20, 2025. 

She is survived by her sons, Matthew Kenseth and Gage Hernandez; brother, David Cox; aunt, Ruth Deininger; granddaughters, Nehaeh Kenseth and Harmony Kenseth; grandson, James Kenseth; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Cox and Shirley McCormick (Mason); and her husband, Carey Hernandez.

Jennifer was the heart of every gathering, the comforting voice on the other end of a phone call, and the embrace that welcomed everyone exactly as they were. She found joy in simple pleasures—playing bingo at the local hall, sharing laughs during family cookouts, and taking adventurous trips to the casino with Carey. She was always the first to organize a gathering, bringing everyone together with her delicious home-cooked meals and her warm, magnetic spirit.

Family was the center of Jennifer’s world. She was not only a devoted mother and grandmother, but also a loving aunt and a steadfast friend. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel like family, and her home was a place where you could always be yourself and feel truly loved.

A celebration of Jennifer’s life will be held at a later date, where her family and friends will come together to honor her memory and the beautiful legacy of love she leaves behind.
