Jerry W. Cason Sr.

07/14/1949 - 04/27/2024

Jerry W Cason Sr of Louisville, KY passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jerry was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 14th, 1949, one of 10 children to Flora Ellen Cason (Pawley) and Robert Nelson Cason.

Jerry was preceded in death by both parents; previous wives, Doris and Tina; eldest son, Uner; siblings; nieces; nephews; and several close friends.

Jerry was a beloved father to Jerry (Uner) Cason Jr., Bridget (Timmy) Broyles, Justin (Sarah) Cason, and Nathan (Genni) Cason; and a beloved Paps/Papa to Roger (Lexi Graham) Keen, Jerry (Trey) Cason III, Brooklyn Broyles, Alaina and Chloe Cason, and Gia Cason. He was great grandpa to Lyla Keen and Zayden Cason. He is also survived by many family and friends.

Jerry had a contagious smile and loved to make people laugh. He never knew a stranger and each person he met was considered family. Jerry was a great story teller and enjoyed chatting with old and new friends. He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and horse races including the Kentucky Derby. He loved spending time with friends at the casino and making memories on family trips to the beach and camping. He spent many nights at the VFW Post with some of his closest friends, or playing poker together at the house. Jerry was a fierce protector and the neighborhood and a Father/Papa wherever he was at.

His last wishes were for his loved ones to think of all the adventures you had together with a smile.

I love you dad always. There are so many memories. You were there for everyone. The neighborhood kids always had a father figure, Papa and friend. They all loved you. Everyone that met you knew you loved you. I’m crying now but then I laugh or smile cause you always made sure to make everyone do that. You lived to love, to tell stories, make ppl laugh, throw a party, welcome anyone in and protect the ppl you loved. I hope you are rejoicing in heaven with your family and friends. I hope you get to watch down on us and I want you to visit as much as you can. Forever in my heart and thoughts. I’m always daddy’s lil girl.
