Billy “Joe” Robinson, of Morganfield, Kentucky, passed away on February 7, 2025.

Joe was born to the late John Wynn and Nannie Emma (Brady) Robinson on October 1, 1935, in Henshaw, Kentucky. Joe was given the name of “Edwin Earle” for the first six months of his life. His parents changed his name to “Billy Joe” in honor of his grandfather in March of 1936 as indicated on his birth certificate.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Sharon K. (Horste) Robinson; daughter, N. Kathleen Robinson of Clay, Kentucky; son, Patrick J. of Lexington, Kentucky; and three brothers, Jim Ray (Carole) of Frankfort, Kentucky; Robert W. (Billie) of Frankfort, Kentucky; and John E. (Rhonda) of Henshaw, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his baby brother, Jerry Wayne in 1942; brother, David Eugene in 2003; sister, Mary Jane in 2006; and his beloved dog “Shopdog” in 2023.

Joe graduated from Sturgis High School in 1954 and briefly attended Murray State College before coming back home to Union County.

A second-generation Master Plumber, he was the owner of R&R Sales/Joe Robinson Plumbing Co. located in Henshaw. He acquired the family business in 1968 and retired after 65 years of dedicated service to the plumbing industry in Union and surrounding counties in 2019. He continued to take continuing education courses at Madisonville Community College (KCTCS) until 2016 to keep and maintain his licenses. He was also the co-owner of the Morganfield Laundromat and Uniontown Laundromat for 13 years.

Being honored as a Kentucky Colonel, Joe volunteered his talent and expertise to Union County Habitat for Humanity and churches within the community.

Joe loved his family and visiting with friends. He enjoyed reading, mowing at the farm, and following the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

There will be a private inurnment service held at a later date.
