Johanna McLaughlin

3/05/1965 - 5/29/2024

Johanna “Shelly” Michelle McLaughlin, 59, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on May 29, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.

Shelly was always the light in any room. She had the most contagious smile, and her laugh could brighten anyone's day. She loved her family, her dog Oso, country music, and soaking up the sun's rays. Her hobbies included camping, dancing, gardening, reading, and cooking.

She is survived by her children Kory (Amanda), Nicholis (Rachael), and Molly (the favorite); her grandchildren Emmersyn, Mathias, and Harlow; her siblings Joey DuVall, Tim Schaefer, and Angel Dorman; and a host of other relatives. Shelly was preceded in death by her father, Joseph DuVall; her mother, Marilyn DuVall; and her siblings, Steve DuVall, Mike DuVall, Jeff Schaefer, and Joe Schaefer.

Rather than a funeral, Shelly’s wishes were to have a “Celebration of Life” gathering in her honor.  The Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Emmaus Road Church located at 515 Potters Lane, Clarksville, IN 47129. The doors will open at 6:00PM, and the program will start at 6:30PM. All those whose lives were touched by Shelly are invited to attend to pay their respects and share their memories.

Shelly will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her light and laughter will continue to shine in the hearts of those she loved.

We grew up in a neighborhood that was full of kids of all ages. Shelly was much younger than some of us so I didn’t really remember playing games with us. She has 3 Brothers, Joey, Mike and Steve. Steve and Mike passed young in life. Shelly will be missed by her family and many friends. Let her find peace and joy again in Heaven! ❤️🙏

I have such fond memories Of Shelly and taking her to Dance lessons and recitals. She was only about 10 years old. She was a good dancer! She was a flower girl in my wedding . My sympathy to her family. 💖

Shelly and I grew up just a few houses from one another, Beeler st. Always involved in the neighborhood games, small as she was Shelly always brought her A game. What she brought the most was her silliness to make everyone laugh. Shelly was their for all of us. Great listener, would go out of her way for anyone. Growing up in our neighborhood Shelly knew we all were her brothers and sisters we always had each other’s back.
Shelly will be terribly missed. Shelly still lives in our hearts, will always love you.
