John Burkhart

11/14/1966 - 5/20/2026

John Burkhart was a south Louisville resident, born on November 14th, 1966. He is preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Blasdil, and his father, Dan Burkhart. He is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey Alan Burkhart, and Ian James Duvall; and his brother, Dan Burkhart, Jr. 

John was an avid fisherman, and a friend to everyone. Although he faced lifelong challenges with the legal system, in his final few years he found solace in Jesus and close friends. John was always available to anyone who needed help or guidance, and sought to guide those that had experienced similar circumstances and challenges. His grace and charm came naturally - John treated all with dignity, regardless of their experiences. He always had a friendly ear for others’ problems, even though he may have been struggling internally. Later in life, he always put others before himself. He will be dearly missed and remembered as a patient, kind, and gentle soul.

There will be a private memorial held on June 30th at 6:00 pm though Prodigal Ministries.
