John Carson

John Carson, 83, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025. He was born on January 11, 1942, in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Francis  Carson and Ardella Lasher Carson.

A proud alumnus of the University of Evansville, where he played football, John lived a full and adventurous life. He was the owner and operator of Robert L. Schmidt Co., X-Selco, and Carson Safety. He also served as President of the Harley Owners Group of America and local Kentuckiana, was a proud member of the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America. Whether on two wheels or with a fishing rod in hand, John was always chasing his next adventure. To his family and friends, he was always known as a storyteller. Whether to joke, soothe, or entertain;  he always had a magical way of making those around him feel loved. His granddaughters will always remember and cherish the stories told by their “wizard.”

John is survived by his loving wife, Cristi Carson; his children, Jonathon Carson, Michael Carson, Emily Luna, and Sarah Taylor Green; and his granddaughters, Olivia Bliss, Anaclaire Bliss, Madeline Bliss, and Cecilia Carson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved daughter, Rebecca Carson Bliss.

John's strength, sense of humor, and boundless spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cremation was chosen and Magnolia Cremations of Jeffersonville, Indiana has been entrusted with the arrangements.
