John Curtis “Curt” Mobley

John Curtis “Curt” Mobley of Carrollton, KY and formerly Harleyville, SC, passed away on August 20,
2024, after a prolonged illness, at home in Carrollton, KY. Curt was born July 20, 1958 in Ardmore, OK, the son of the late Jimmy Thomas Mobley, Sr. and Shirley Ann Walters Mobley.
Curt graduated from Harleyville-Ridgeville High School (Salutatorian), and attended Baptist College(Charleston Southern University). Curt was an electrician, having worked on many homes and businesses in the Low country, as well as in the Environmental field for many years.
Curt was an Air Force Brat, having lived in Japan as well as several US Air Force Bases in the states,before his family settled in Harleyville. Curt lived in Harleyville most of his life, before joining his son and family in recent years in Carrollton, KY.
Curt’s perfect day would be spent fishing with friends, watching a Clemson Tigers football game, cooking dinner (preferably fish) for his sons, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, while listening to music(preferably from the 70’s).
Curt was predeceased by his Parents; Wife, Nancy Marie Mizell Mobley; Sister, Amantha Ann Mobley. Surviving are his beloved sons, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, John Curtis Mobley, Jr. (Misti); Clayton Cordell Mobley, Clayton Mobley (Alexus); Grandchildren, Amethyst Jade Mobley, Preston James Mobley, Casen Mobley and Charleigh Mobley, Carrollton, Cooper John Shelton; Brothers, Jimmy Mobley, Jr. (Robin), Summerville; Wayne Mobley(Terry), Holly Hill; Guy Mobley (Diana), Summerville; and Randy Mobley (Chris), Summerville; many Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Cousins and Life-Long Friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, August 27 th , 11:00 a.m. at Bedford Baptist Church, 1425 Hwy 42 E, Bedford, KY.
