Joseph Matthew Mikula

Joseph Matthew Mikula, 59, passed away on May 1, 2026. He was born on September 29, 1966.

Thirty years ago, Joey traveled to Louisville to work with the horses at the Kentucky Derby. He loved it so much that he made Louisville his permanent home. While living there, he earned his associate degree in nursing.

Joey enjoyed gardening, caring for his animals, watching Philadelphia sports teams, and spending time around horses.

He is survived by his beloved dog, Gunner; his parents, Joseph and Mary Mikula; his sisters, Mary Mikula, Cindy Williams, and Laura Mikula; and his uncle and aunt, Al and MaryAnne Mikula.

He was preceded in death by his aunts,  Rita and Linda.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him
