Joshua Hogan

Joshua Eric “Shag” Hogan, 52, passed away on March 25th, 2026. He was a resident of Pekin, Henryville, and Salem Indiana.

Joshua was born on February 3, 1974 to Sherry Hogan (Lyles, Ponder) and David Ponder. He was also the son of Gary Hogan. He spent much of his life working as a carpenter, a trade he was skilled at and took pride in his precision. Joshua had a deep love for music. He was a talented guitar player and builder who found joy in strumming and singing, especially alongside his mother. Music was not just a hobby for him; it was a part of who he was and something he shared with those closest to him. Joshua will be remembered for his craftsmanship, love of music, and moments he shared with family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his companion Sandra Dass and her son Laron of Otisco, his father Gary Hogan of Pekin, his brother Clayton Hogan (Autumn) of Salem, his brother Macon Ponder (Gina) of Panama City Florida, his sister Tara lewellen (Bob) of Henryville, his sister Kati Hogan of Salem, his sister Cassi Shearer (David) of Prospect Kentucky. He has 12 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother Sherry Hogan, his father David Ponder, his cousin Jason Briscoe, his grandparents Robert and Virginia Hogan and Robert and Lounelle Lyles.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
