Karen Schmidt

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Karen Schmidt, a beloved mother, friend, and compassionate soul. Karen was born on August 9, 1947, and sadly, she left us on April 11, 2024. She is survived by her twin sister, Sharon Gretsinger, her children, Jeff Schmidt, Jason Schmidt and John Schmidt as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Karen was the embodiment of love, generosity, and selflessness. She devoted her life to her family and raising her children and grandchildren. Her caring nature made her a source of hope and comfort to those around her. She opened her heart and her home to everyone, imparting valuable lessons about caring for others, the importance of integrity and hard work, and love for family.
Among her numerous accomplishments, Karen was also proud of her 25+ year career at Yum! Brands. Her impact extended beyond her family into her personal and professional life. Her legacy of kindness, hard work, integrity and love of family will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Although we mourn the physical loss of Karen, we also celebrate her impactful life. A Celebration of Life in her honor will be held on Sunday May 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM at 5640 S Preston Hwy. In facing the void Karen's loss has created, we can find solace in the enduring memory of her characteristic love and generosity, which she consistently exhibited throughout her lifetime and instilled in those she left behind.
Our hearts are heavy, yet we choose to remember Karen as the kind, giving, and loving person she was. We celebrate her life, her legacy, and the remarkable woman she was—loved by many and missed by all.
