Katherine "Katie" Maureen Thursby

Katherine “Katie” Maureen Thursby (Witt) went to be with the Lord our Savior on January 21st, 2025, after a long battle with dementia.

Katie was born to Gordon and Peggy Witt on July 27th, 1962 in Aurora, Illinois. Katie is survived by her father, Gordon Witt; her sister, Donna Witt Mathy; her children, Michael (Jamie) Losher III, Kassandra Proffitt, Tami Vandusen, Edward (Morgan) Mesik, Peggi (Michael) Baxter, and Anthony (Baylee) Thursby; her grandchildren, Jakob (Kasi), Kaleb, Klayton, Jason Jr, Alex, Derek, Kasyn(Terrin), David, Emmaleigh, Taya, Cayden, Kiarra, Blake, Carter, Caden, and Elijah; and her great-grandchildren, Desmond and Jeremiah. Katie had many other children she collected along the way.

Katie is preceded in death by her mother, Peggi Witt; her beloved sister, Patty; and her wonderful daughters, Amanda and Sami (Michael).

Katie enjoyed many hobbies to include crocheting, gardening, cooking, and baking, as well as playing pogo games online. Katie was well known for making all the holiday goodies and baby blankets for all the newborns of her family and friends. Katie will be greatly missed. 

A Celebration of life we be held at a later date. 

Cremation was chosen and Magnolia Cremations of Jeffersonville, IN, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
