Lawrence “Larry” Carl Simko

Lawrence “Larry” Carl Simko passed away peacefully on August 11 th , 2025, surrounded by his loving family. His passing leaves a space that will never truly be filled, but his memory will live on through the many colorful stories joyfully remembered by his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Simko (Wrobel), his father, Andy Simko, and his brother, Timothy “Tim” Simko.
Larry is survived by his devoted wife Linda Simko (Gallimore) and his beloved children, Jamie Simko Cole (Ryan) and Andrew Simko. He leaves behind countless cherished friends, many of whom have been by his side for over 60 years since their college days.
Larry was born in Whiting, IN on July 30 th , 1949 and graduated from Clark High School in 1967. Larry also served as a medic in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971.
A proud small business owner, Larry poured his heart into his work and his community. He was a lifelong devoted fan of Indiana University, having graduated from the Indiana School of Business in 1974. He faithfully cheered on the Hoosiers through every season. Larry’s adventurous spirit took him on countless motorcycle trips and vacations with friends, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come.
Those who knew Larry will remember his loyalty, generosity, and unwavering dedication to the people he loved. His life was defined by the relationships he nurtured and the joy he found in every adventure. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends to share stories, laughter, love, food, and drinks in his honor.

I will remember Larry’s big wave and big smile each day from his balcony when I arrived at the pool for my daily workout .We shared some interesting long conversations about our mutual love for cars.
