Lawrence "LO" Osborn

1/11/1950 - 5/23/2026

Lawrence “LO” Osborn, age 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2026. A proud lifelong resident of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Larry was born and raised by his late parents, Vernon and Anna Marie Osborn. He was a man whose larger-than-life personality, generous spirit, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

LO was well known throughout the Jeffersonville community as the longtime owner of the Village Inn, where countless friendships were formed and memories were shared over the years. He had a gift for making others feel welcome and valued, and his warm presence will be deeply missed by many.

A proud veteran, Larry honorably served his country in the United States Army. Following his service, he devoted his life to his family, friends, and the community he cherished so dearly. LO found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, listening to the timeless sounds of Rat Pack music, watching classic country western films, and cheering on his beloved Indiana University Hoosiers. His love of sports was unmatched, and he could often be found passionately discussing the latest game or reminiscing about legendary IU moments.

Larry was also a longtime member of Knights of Columbus Council 1348 in Jeffersonville. He deeply treasured the camaraderie and friendships he shared with his fellow club brothers and auxiliary sisters. An avid golfer, Larry spent many years participating in the Knights of Columbus golf league, a pastime he loved dearly and one that brought him countless memories and cherished friendships.

Above all else, he treasured the people in his life. He shared 37 wonderful years with his devoted life partner, Janet Gibson, whose love and companionship brought him immeasurable happiness. He was a proud and loving bonus father to Michael Gibson, Melissa Scully, and Melinda Owings. LO was also a cherished grandfather to Sid, Presley, Ella, Savannah, and Levi, and a proud great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren who brought endless joy to his life. He was also loved by many extended family members, dear friends and those who became family through love and friendship, including, Carolyn and Vincent Rivera, Tim Scully, Stephanie Seelye, Rick Harkins, McKenzie Harkins, Craig Owings, Emily Steele and all who held a special place in his life.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his siblings, Vernon “Sonny” Osborn, Gerry Osborn, David Osborn, Jimmy Osborn, Linda Osborn, and Barbara Osborn.

Left to carry on his memory are his beloved Janet; his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Carolyn Rivera (Vinny); along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever remember his kindness, humor, and generous heart.

A memorial service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Knights of Columbus, 225 E. Market Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. that same day and again until 7:00 p.m. following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to St Elizabeth's Catholic Charities New Albany and/or the Clark County Humane Society. Scott Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
