Leroy Allen Rector

Leroy Allen Rector, 69, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on January 7, 2026. He was born on March 7, 1956, in Summit, Illinois, to George and Shirley Rector. Leroy spent most of his life in Lockport Illinois, and cherished his time there. 

Leroy is survived by his nieces, Georgiann and Marylou; Marylou’s daughter, Cheyenne; his nephew, Donnie (Angie); and their children, Caleb and Allayna.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Shirley Rector; his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Donald Lee Sr.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Leroy had his share of troubles, but he was a good man at heart. He deeply loved his family, friends, and animals. A lifelong Cubs fan and devoted Shania Twain fan, Leroy found joy in simple pleasures. He enjoyed spending time at the Lockport American Legion in earlier years, traveling to Wisconsin and Las Vegas with family, and could always hold his own in a game of pool or bowling. Leroy’s big heart, humor, and willingness to help anyone in need will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
