Lonzo Smith

Lonzo Smith, 82, of Knox County, Kentucky, passed away on November 24, 2025, in Hartford, KY, surrounded by the love of his family. A man who found joy in life’s simple treasures, Lonzo was happiest with a fishing pole in his hand or riding along the back roads, taking in the world one quiet mile at a time. He carried an easy smile, a good heart, and a gentle spirit that made people feel at home in his presence.

Lonzo also had a charm all on his own — a smooth talker and a ladies’ man, known for his wit, his warmth, and the playful sparkle he carried through life.

Lonzo’s devotion to his family showed in every part of his life, gently reminding those around him that the simplest moments often become the most meaningful. He was a good man — steady in his ways, generous in spirit, and loved by many.

He is survived by his children: Lonnie Smith, Georgette Hembre, Yvonne Smith, Alonzo Smith, and Erica Martin; his grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews who will forever hold his memory close.

A private family ceremony will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate Lonzo’s life.
