Marine Alice Turpen

Marine Alice Turpen (Etue), 81, was born on November 20, 1942 in Hamburg, Arkansas and passed away on October 26, 2024 in New Albany Indiana.

She was the daughter of Manual Etue and Hazel Pope. Marine graduated from Peru High school and married her high school sweetheart, Roy Turpen on June 22, 1962.

They were blessed with five daughters, Doresa Puckett, Ternia(Joe) Simard, Melinda(Tony) Poirier, Melissa (Richard) Vaughn and Twyla Sparks, 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by 2 sisters, 4 brothers.

Marine is preceded in death by her husband Roy Turpen, one brother and one son in law.

Marine Turpen was a woman who loved the kingdom of god and her family. She gave to her family without hesitation and to the best of her ability. She loved people deeply. She was a woman of meekness and gentleness. She always saw the best in people.

She loved being in the kitchen, canning and gardening. She was a faithful servant in the church and worked in many areas of children’s ministry. She gave her time and energy to the kingdom of god and went out of her way to connect people to the church.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Greenville, North Carolina.
