Mark Anthony Deatrick
10/18/1960 - 06/10/2025
Mark Anthony Deatrick, 64, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on June 10, 2025.
Born and raised in Clarksville, Mark was a proud graduate of Clarksville High School, where he made his mark as a standout athlete, especially in football and basketball. His passion for sports and natural charisma made him a friend to many and a stranger to none.
From 1980 to 1984, Mark served in the United States Coast Guard as a rescue swimmer aboard the HH-3F helicopter. His bravery and selflessness in service to others were something he carried with him long after his military career ended.
Mark was larger than life—an Elvis Presley superfan with a booming laugh and magnetic personality. He was the kind of person who lit up every room he entered, the first to make a joke, and the last to leave a good party. Whether you knew him for years or just a few minutes, you remembered him. Mark was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Brooke Deatrick, his mother, Nancy L. Sparks, his father, Ron Deatrick, and his stepmother, Shelby Deatrick.
He is survived by his son, Mike Deatrick (Lauren), and his two cherished grandsons, Zaine and Nash Deatrick, who brought him endless pride and joy. He also leaves behind his sister, Tonya Hennesy, brothers Mike Fitzgerald, Tommy Fitzgerald, Ronnie Deatrick, Jeff Deatrick, his niece, Sydney Hennesy Ohlmann (Michael), nephew Cooper Hennesy, and stepfather Charlie Sparks.
Mark’s legacy lives on in the stories told, the laughter shared, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those lucky enough to have known him.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Mark on July 3rd, 2025, at Clucker's in Jeffersonville, IN, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm.

I met Mark Through my dad, Scott Traver, and. Many mutual friends. I loved talking to Mark about his time in the coast guard . In a rougher time in my life, Mark let me stay with him during the winter, when I had no where else to go., I will always be grateful for his friendship, and I will always remember his “not a afraid to hurt your feelings” blunt attitude. 🥲
