Mary Ellen Kirk

4/4/1937 - 12/15/2025

Mary Ellen Kirk was an 88-year-old strong and devoted Christian woman whose life reflected her deep faith and quiet strength. A faithful member of Eastside Christian Church, she loved the Lord and lived out her faith through kindness, service, and love for her family and community.

She had a lifelong passion for gardening and found great joy in nurturing beauty from the earth. She was also talented in art, expressing her creativity with care and grace. As a proud member of the Terrace Garden Club, she cherished fellowship with friends who shared her love of nature.

She is survived by her children, Linda Nowakowski (Jeff), Beth Kirk, and Jessi Nance (Kevin); her grandchildren, Nick Catt, Jay Burke, Jenna Graham (Davis), Sam Nance, and Nicole Wilson (Seth); and her great-grandchildren, Kyla Catt and Eli Catt. She is also fondly remembered by her dear friend through the years, Bo Carr.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and high school sweetheart, Walter Terry Kirk, whom she is now joyfully reunited with in the presence of the Lord.

Her legacy of faith, creativity, and love will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew her.

There will be a memorial service on Friday, December 19th, 2025 at Eastside Christian Church, 2319 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN 47130. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with the service at 1:00 pm.
