Melinda Polk

12/23/1963-12/07/2024

Melinda Polk, a former florist at Kroger and a devoted member of Louisville Church of Christ, passed away on Saturday, December 7, leaving behind memories of her beautiful, happy spirit.

Melinda was a loving mother to her daughter, Amy, and a proud grandmother to her cherished grandchildren, Jazmon, Ja’Myion, and Jay’Vion. She also held a special place in her heart for her niece, Heather.

She was married to Robert Polk and was a beloved member of her family. She is survived by her mother, Bonnie Baumgardner; her cast of siblings, Jed, Vicky, Sheila, Tammy, and Daphne.

Melinda had a deep love for Christmas, and her home was always filled with the magic and joy of the season. She also found joy in cooking, creating delicious meals that brought her family and friends together and left lasting memories around her table.

She was deeply loved by her great-aunts Mae, Bee, Faye, Beverly, her great-uncle Bradley, and her cousins, all of whom remember her as a kind and caring soul.

Her life was a testament to spreading love, kindness, and joy. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Miss Mindy, i love and miss you so much! I’m 25 right now and there isn’t a period of my life that i don’t remember you being there – from when i was 4 and you took me everywhere with you, the Pegasus Parade, Chow Wagon and all of the derby events, to when i was 9 and I would stay the night with Amy but spend most of my time with you talking about all of your baking recipes and reading all of your history books and when i was 16 and would walk home from school and would pass your apartment everyday and we would always have our little talks. You’ve always been such a beacon of love to me, my mom and my siblings and your loving spirit is truly missed. I thank you so much for everything you’ve ever done for me and I love you so much for allowing me to make Amy my sister. I have made so many life long memories thanks to you and i will miss you forever but you will always be here in my heart! Thank you so much Miss Mendy <3333

Ms. Melinda was an extended member of our family. She was at many family gatherings over the years and she will be missed. We shared our love for those “boys.” My condolences and prayers for Amy, the boys and her entire family.
