Michael Ray Daugherty

Michael Ray Daugherty Sr., 57, of Harrisburg, Illinois, passed away on October 30, 2024, in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Michael was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and beloved brother. He leaves behind his wife, Janet Daugherty of Harrisburg, Illinois; his daughter, Missty Griffiths (Matt) of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; his son, Michael Daugherty (Chloe) of Harrisburg, Illinois; and his son, Forest Holloway of Harrisburg, Illinois. He was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren, Maggie, Thomas, and Rain, with one more grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his brothers, Gus Daugherty Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky, and Richie Daugherty of Crittenden County, Kentucky, along with several nieces and nephews who adored him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gus Harold Daugherty Sr. of Providence, Kentucky; his mother, Diane Edith Roth of Louisville, Kentucky; his brother, Paul Daniel Daugherty of Providence, Kentucky; and his sister, Nancy Shoulders of Webster County, Kentucky.

Michael attended Webster County High School in Kentucky, where he began forming the foundation of his hardworking and lively spirit. He had a passion for driving semis, earning his CDL and dedicating over 28 years to a profession he loved. Michael had an infectious sense of humor, often entertaining those around him with his air guitar skills and hilarious songs he’d make up just to bring a smile. He had a deep and abiding love for God, his children, and his grandchildren, and his life was a testament to the joy and warmth he shared with others.

Michael's memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A service celebrating Michael's life will be held at Rockstile Creek Church, 508 Highway 41A, Providence, Kentucky, on Saturday, December 21st, 2024, at 3:00 PM. Donations in his memory can be made to the church, and flowers may be sent to the family at the church.
