Nannie Jean Campbell

Nannie Jean Campbell, 77, of Austin, Indiana, passed away peacefully in her home on August 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Nannie was born on November 11, 1947, in Kentucky to Boyd and Lena Rose Cooper (Brandenburg). She was a woman of faith, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a cherished friend to many. A longtime resident of Austin, she was a proud member of the Northside Pentecostal Church Of God.
Nannie dedicated 47 years of service to Silgan Plastics in Quality Control before retiring. Her work ethic, reliability, and commitment left a lasting impression on all who worked with her.
In her free time, Nannie found joy in the simple pleasures of lifeāreading a good book, watching Agatha Christie mysteries, tending to her flowers and plants, and taking long walks with her beloved dog, Dallas.
She was married to Luther Dean Campbell for 48Ā Ā years before his passing in 2016. Together, they raised two children, Matthew Shannon Campbell and Deana LeAnn Schafer (Stephen). Nannie found love again and, in 2022, married Michael Davisson, who survives her.
Nannie is also survived by her daughter, Deana LeAnn Schafer; her sisters, Sally Rose Campbell, Ruby Neiderbaumer, and Versy Goines; and four wonderful grandchildren, Shannon Michael Campbell, Samantha Hart (Michael), Christian Michael Schafer, and Hailey Elise Schafer.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Luther Dean Campbell; her son, Matthew Shannon Campbell; her parents, Boyd and Lena; her brothers, Junior, Claude, Stony, and Clayton Cooper; and her sister, Eunice Prather.
Honoring Nannieās wishes, she was cremated by Magnolia Cremations in Jeffersonville, IN.
A memorial dinner to celebrate her life will be held onĀ Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 1:00 PMĀ atĀ The Rock, 750 S Gardner St., Scottsburg, IN. Family and friends are invited to come together in remembrance of a life well lived and deeply loved.
Nannieās legacy of love, faith, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

What can I say! She was a funny lady with a big joyous laugh!! I have lots of childhood memories with this family at Thanksgiving! With little Deana entertaining us with her joyous song!!!!! ..Rest in the arms you jesus now in peace!!!!! š„°
