Nicholas E. Burton

08/26/1982 - 01/12/2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nicholas E. Burton, beloved son, brother, father, and friend, who left us on January 12, 2025, at the age of 42. Nicholas, known for his infectious smile, warm spirit, and larger-than-life personality, was a cherished member of his family and community.

Nicholas is survived by his parents, Ron Burton (Joan) and Alice Collins (Dan), his two children, Trinity and Jayden Burton, his brothers Tim (Becky 2), Sean (Becky) Burton, and Tony (Ginger) Collins, his sisters Dana (Mike) Board, and Debbie (Charlie) Bain, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, many special friends, and his special caregiver, Aunt Fay, who will forever miss his presence. Nicholas was preceded in death by his grandfathers Raymond Washburn and Paul Collins, and grandmothers Dola Washburn, Evelyn Burton, and Mary Lou Collins.

Nicholas had a passion for bringing people together, often attending family events and gatherings that would create lasting memories. He was an avid participant in bowling, poker, pool, camping, fishing, and winning Connect 4, finding joy in both friendly competition and quiet moments with loved ones. However, one of his greatest loves was spending time with his family and sharing meals with them, especially enjoying his brother’s cooking, which he always looked forward to.Ā

Nicholas will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the deep love he had for his family. He had an incredible ability to make everyone around him feel welcome and valued. His spirit will live on in the memories he created with each person who had the privilege of knowing him.Ā

Still in awe that you’re no longer with us. We met in 2010 through a mutual friend and I was initially hesitant, but your infectious laughter and banter captured my heart. You were there for me during my 21st birthday celebration! You shared in my joy when I finally obtained my driver’s license at 21! You offered a shoulder to cry on during difficult times. You stood by me through custody battles, football practices, and tough times, but most importantly, you were there when I needed someone to talk to. We got married in April 2013, and although we divorced, our friendship remained strong. I’m grateful for the countless moments you spent with my son, creating memories that I’ll always treasure. Although our journey together had its ups and downs, I’m thankful that our friendship endured. I’m glad we remained in touch, and I regret not being more proactive in our communication. Your presence in my life will be deeply missed, but I’m thankful for the time we shared. Thank you for being an incredible friend and for the memories we created together with your family. šŸ˜‡šŸ’™ Sam & Jake!
