11/04/1955-11/26/2025

In Loving Memory of Patrice Marie Scudella  Patrice Marie Scudella (née Ralson), age 70, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, in New Albany, Indiana. Born on November 4, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the cherished daughter of Robert W. and Frances (née Hodges) Ralson, both of whom preceded her in death.  Patrice shared a beautiful life with her husband, Frank Scudella, as together they raised their family in Elmhurst, Illinois. She was a devoted and loving mother to Jeannette, Marsha (John) Baugher, and Matthew (Jennifer) Scudella. She was also a proud grandmother to Marah, John Jr., Cassandra, Brian, Marissa, Nicholas, Cari, Matthew Jr., and Jamilyn. Her greatest joy was found in nurturing children—first through her own family, followed by home childcare, and later in the treasured role of supporting her grandchildren throughout their lives.  Family was the heart of Patrice’s life. She delighted in tending her vegetable garden, serving its bounty, baking for loved ones, canning fruit preserves, camping beneath the stars, and knitting baby blankets and warm gifts for friends and family. She and Frank shared a love of exploring family history through genealogy. Even as illness limited her activities, her devotion to family never wavered.  Patrice’s love extended across generations. She offered support to her parents in their retirement years. She was the beloved sister of John, Robert G., and David G. Ralson of Decatur, Alabama, Maureen Plestina of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and the late Michael.   Her life was a testament to devotion, care, and love—a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.                                                                                                  Cremation services were provided by Magnolia Cremations of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 3–6 p.m. at Palermo’s Banquet Facility, 4849 West 95th Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453, 708-425-6262. Pizza will be served. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Bede Catholic Church, 8200 S Kostner Ave, Chicago, on Monday, December 29, at 10 a.m., with visitation beginning half an hour before the Mass. Interment for immediate family will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip, Illinois.

When we were children, my mom would give Pat some money to take me out to get an ice cream or a large chocolate milkshake. I was still pretty young and never understood why she didn’t get one for herself.. at the time I was very underweight and need to put a few pounds on. I love you, Pat. You’re always a good big sister.
